Title

Paul Kurokawa's Liquor Store

Description

Paul Kurokawa's liquor store, built 1960. According to Paul's daughter, Dawn Kamiya, there was not much building going on in the area at the time he built the store: "Nothing ever got built there" until her father built the stores. In describing the building she said he had so much concrete rebar in it. "Father went to school in Tokyo so knew about earthquakes." An engineer had drilled the foundation to test for safety but it was solid.
