Title

Mabel and Tad Yamada with George Aratani and Friend

Description

Mabel and Tad Yamada, at their wedding, are at the center of the photograph. To the right of Tad is George Aratani (son of Setsuo Aratani). Tad's parents had a grocery store in Guadalupe, California. George founded Mikasa china company with Yamada as a partner. George also started Kenwood electronics. George donated about $10 million as a philanthropist, primarily in support of Japanese Americans. This photograph may have been taken in Minnesota where George, Tad, and Paul Kurokawa were Military Intelligence Service Language School (MISLS) instructors but as civilians. There were about 20-25 MISLS instructors, about half came from California's Central Coast.
